February 5, week 4
In Class:
Natalya fits student moulages individually or in small groups for those who wish to observe. Students who did not get fitted during class will meet with Natalya before the weekend for a fitting. While Natalya is fitting individual students, students will:
1. begin working on Sewing Samples: Seams
or
2. watch the following chapters of Patternmaking + Design: Creative Darts & Seam Lines:
The Basics of Dart Manipulation, 37:02 min
Dart Variations, 34:13 min
Students who have successful fittings with minimal changes this week can move on to watching the chapter: Drafting the Bodice Sloper 25:50 mins and Trueing the Sloper 26:36 mins in Patternmaking Basics: The Bodice Sloper. These students will draft the sloper (front and back) and sew up the muslin. Students who need to make one more moulage will work on Moulage 3 over the weekend. It is expected that students will arrive to finished slopers at different times.
Homework:
1. Find images of attractive 5-10 shirts/tops and post on Pinterest
2. Complete Sewing Samples: Seams, due: February 12
3. Complete Moulage 3/Sloper, due: February 12
