In Class:
1. Discussion about class progress.
2. Students’ slopers are fitted by Natalya.
3. Students whose slopers have been fitted should begin transferring sloper pattern on tag. Poster board is on the metal shelf in the classroom. Follow Natalya’s instructions and instructions in the chapters of Patternmaking Basics: Bodice Sloper:  “Truing the Sloper” (26:36 mins), “Transferring the Sloper to Tag”. (19:36 mins), and “Bodice Sloper Design Options” (0-16:16 mins).  Hang transferred slopers on tag (labeled) on the classroom hanging rack.
4.  If your sloper has been transferred to tag, work on the latest set of sewing samples.
5. If your samples have been completed, begin working on section 3 of the Homework below.

Homework:
1. Transfer sloper to tag.
2. Complete latest set of Sewing Samples: Samples 24-30. The deadline for completion of this set of samples is flexible but beware that Sample 24 and 25 walk you through the construction of a sleeveless shell.

3. If your sloper has been transferred to tag, bravo!!!  You can begin on the next steps.
Follow Designing Your Wardrobe: Drafting Tops class: Chapter “Sleeveless Shell” 29:54 mins and “Closures, Edge Finishes, and Pattern Standards” 28:28 mins.  Create a Sleeveless Shell working pattern (front should be the same as in the video; back should be with one slit in the neckline, shoulder dart, back contouring but no waist dart).   Does your drafted slit create an opening of at least 24″?

Add 1/4″ seam allowance around the neck, 1/2″ seam allowance everywhere else), cut unwashed muslin, staystitch around the neck and armhole, sew up a simple quick toile with the front made out of one panel and the back with two panels. This toile is to confirm proportions and fit. Why make a toile/muslin? Ideally due beginning of class: February 24
