2016-06-29: Day 2
First Week Goals
- learn basic electrical theory
- go through most of the Elementary Electronics exercises
- go through two of the Arduino with Electronics exercises
- review overall project plan
- discuss pinball problem statement
- learn basic soldering technique
- Friday Demo: one-in one-out system
Assignment: One-Input One-Output
The objective is to demonstrate a single-input single-output system (SISO) which interacts with either a human or a pinball. The demo should include one input element which transduces a mechanical signal into an electrical one, and one output element which transduces electrial back into mechanical. The use of computing in the electrical domain is suggested but not required.
This can be trivially simple: a power supply, microswitch, and solenoid wired in series satisfy the prompt. But the underling goal is to make the result interesting from both performative and technical perspectives.
