I was observing the wood tile based display. The visitors were of all ages, most people seemed to pose in small groups in front of the display, sometimes to take a photo. Younger children seemed to like to see the device react to movement, while older children tried to create different poses. I think that the medium and movement really caught the users attention. It was able to clearly display images, but the medium was so foreign that it garnered a large amount of interest from all ages. Overall, response seems to be what engages the children. In this exhibit, children had a high degree of freedom and ability to create. Adult visitors seemed to interact alongside children, encouraging them.
The museum space felt very open and creative. I think that the piece relates to that mantra very well.
