My original idea was to have a conical shape that expands and contracts. After experimenting with the conical shape, I thought that it worked well but would be better if there were something else for it to interact with, so I used an earlier experiment (red cylinder) to explore that interaction. I felt that the boning helped to make the interaction between these objects both easier and more effective. I liked using two fabrics because it increased the capacity to create a narrative: the red fabric creates a sort of shelter for the green, and the green peaks out and goes back in throughout the video.
