In modern cities where the distance between human decreases due to the high density of population, the “shell” aims to provide a visible personal space boundary for the person on their commute or anywhere they are intimidated by the crowd. The sheer fabric allows for visibility while implying a boundary.

The structure of the shell is composed of five frames made of chip board, fixed on both sides with dowels. The bicycle wire is connected to the smaller sections of tubes under each sections of chip board strips, then to the bigger tube in the back. The user will push or pull the wire with their hands to move the shell.

For the team work, we divide the job according to out strength but also help each other to be familiarize with the other task. Zhang Yu mostly worked on the fabric attachment, and Clara worked on the structure and mechanics assembly.
