I wanted to explore light and movement and particularly how to incorporate fabric into my environment. I thought my semi-transparent fabric could have an interesting effect if I moved it around my body and played with lighting. To make the movement work like I wanted it to, I used fishing wire and command hooks to attach the fabric to my ceiling so it could hang around me where I stood. But, given that my space is pretty cramped, it was difficult to pick a good location to film and I couldn’t really get my full body into the shot so the fabric hung a little to the side of me rather than directly over my head. I also experimented with lights by shining a lamp from my right side and running string lights down my arm for extra lighting elements to draw attention to the motion. It was really interesting to see the huge amount of movement I could give the fabric by swinging it around my body and the bright colour changes in made in the light.
