I found this project interesting, because I’ve never really taken into account how expensive utilities can get. This energy meter measures the supply current to your home, which in turn allows you to be more cognizant of the energy you are expending on a monthly basis.
An improvement that I would make to this project would be to display a dollar amount representing cost of electricity. Another improvement would be to have a separate indicator such as an LED flash, if the meter exceeds a certain value for the month.
