When we first started brain storming, we were very interested in stop motion and mechanical movements of a long serpent, dragon like creature. We used cups to create the dragon serpent to give more mobility than just a wire framed dragon. We covered the cups with fabric to give more texture and fit more into character. We also wanted to serpent to exist in the sky, and thus paper cranes were made to experiment with stop motion.  The paper cranes were also inspired by an animated short film posted below.

Although we originally got the mechanics to move, it didn’t work very well with our props and thus we utilized hand puppetry. Thus, we made that portion live action, with the cranes being stop motioned. The green screen was utilized for the background so we could have a leveled background with movements.
