In this short film about some adventurous space fish, we tell the story of two fish who have their space craft unexpectedly shot down. They quickly jettison the ship in an escape pod and make their way towards earth. They fall through the clouds until they hit water, sinking to the bottom of the ocean where they are able to make their final escape. We wanted to tell a common space story, but with unexpected characters and have their eventual destination mimic their characteristics in some way. Thus, our astronauts became fish and their destination became the sea.  In making the film, we mechanized the moving of the ship and used puppets for the ship’s individual parts. The individual models were laser cut and covered with clay. To capture motion, we shot in stop motion with Dragonframe.
