in class:

  1. Work on testing out the Final Weaving ideas on the sample. At the end of class, students take the weaving samples off the loom and tie up the warp ends. Review videos in Technical Weaving Resources that deal with options for warp end treatment, dealing with loose threads, and hanging the weaving.
  2. Equipment/materials for warping looms are distributed. Students are assigned a buddy to warp their looms over the weekend.
  3. Students choose yarn that they will need for the final weaving. Students may need to dye yarn and roving.

September 26 we meet in A4/Sewing Lab (basement). Please, do not be late!

  1. the loom must be re-warped fully by next class period; image of warped loom pinned to Pinterest
  2. MUST watch Machine Sewing PowerpointSinger 44S Heavy Duty Sewing Machine (beginning – minute 21), From 2-D to 3-D Powerpoint, QUIZ to follow
  3. students must begin working on the final weaving independently; students should have a life size drawing/schematic to follow/reference; however, you are allowed to deviate and make decisions based on what you discovering and learning throughout the process of weaving.
  4. Students must watch videos in Technical Weaving Resources that deal with options for warp end treatment, dealing with loose threads, and hanging the weaving by September 29th.
