For this assignment, I decided to focus on the more intimate interaction of kissing between two people. I also wanted to ensure the way the fabric moved made sense with the action, thus I decided on a privacy screen for kissing.
Successes: The fabric falls down and comes up as planned. Additionally, you can’t see what’s happening behind the shield. I also like that I chose red fabric as the color of love, which seemed very fitting.
Improvements: Ideally, I would have liked for the fabric to roll up higher in the beginning, so more of the face is shown and it has more of a surprise effect. I also would have liked for the two heads moving together to cause the shield to drop instead of pulling a string. I tried to stage it, so you can’t tell a string is being pulled though since I couldn’t get it to work with the tension in the heads separating and moving together.
