Our parasite lives off of its hosts air supply.
Similar to a snake, we really wanted something that was harmful to the human. We chose to have it feed off of breath and strangle the neck. As the host breaths, the parasite fills up with air and slowly contracts, strangling the host. To breath again, the host must inhale its already depleted air, further weakening the wearer.

To create this piece we began by making a structure that contracted when inflated. We both created smaller test pieces before hand to try out different methods of sealing and creating motion from the pneumatic bags. Then we worked together to finalize the idea and make the final piece. We learned sometimes it’s best to experiment first before meeting so we are more efficient with time.
