I wanted to explore a moving camera to capture a movement that cant be seen from a stationary perspective. I created a case for my phone from cardboard, and attached the case and a blanket to a drill. I especially liked the motion when the drill stops. The sudden end to the rotation is jarring, but interesting I was also fond of how the light seemed to “roll” around the fabric as it spins, constantly changing what is in shadow.

It was quite a challenge to stabilize the drill and camera, as the rotation mass made it shake quite violently at higher speeds. That being said, chaotic, blurry, quickly rotating images are interesting too.

Another video I took using the Drill mount. The drill was rotated by hand to track the falling tie.
