For this assignment I mostly wanted to get more accustomed with using the sewing machine, especially with cardboard joints. I wanted to make a creation that compressed and expanded when two people tried to high-five. I used four long strips of cardboard to make into joints and sewed them into my fabric. I found it difficult to keep my seam allowances straight, so I accidentally sewed into the cardboard and twice and broke the needles. After, I sewed two circular strips to connect the cardboard joints, and sewed on some elastic to attach the shape to the hand. In the middle, I placed a piece of fabric that unfurls when both ends are brought together and could have a message or something on it.
