Inspired by the behavior of parasitic plants intertwining its stems with the stems of the host plant, the choker parasite inhabits around the host human’s neck. The four chambers are connected to plastic tubes that feeds into the host’s mouth. The actions of inhale and exhale feeds the parasite, and eventually chokes the host. We experimented with different tubes going into different holes of the body, we found that the most overwhelming feeling was when both nostrils and mouth were adding to the constriction of the neck. We also experimented with different parts of the body the vines/snakes could come from: the neck, the chest, around the armpits etc. Its hard to see but each of the snake vines are crimped using an iron to make a twisting and squeezing of the forms. It was a strange feeling to be strangled by your own breath.
