Hello 🗣 Over the past few weeks, BANJOS finished major parts, working towards a playable full round of the game.

Programming

After a long arduous battle with photon, the programmers got multiplayer working 🎉 There is a loading lobby screen, and all the objects and actions reflect on both players’ screens. The players as variants can attack other characters, and solder points to finish a puzzle. The 3D model was not exported correctly so the model floats around; this will be fixed later.

Art

The artists finished modeling the characters and a draft of the map. The character has basic animations for walking, soldering points, and attacking. The attack animation will be adjusted to be a 3 zap combo.

Game design

For game design, we created a draft for our map with some puzzles. Across our map, we have resistors, switches, and LEDs.

The player’s goal is to solder points for the resistor and click the switch in order to light up the corresponding LED. This demonstrates the basic soldering components of our game. Later on, we will implement a more variety of puzzles for players to change the direction of the electricity and also desolder points.

Sound

Our sound designer iterated on the explore music loops and added sound effects for the characters when they interact with the environment.

Next steps

Our steps for next week will be implementing all the art assets, sound effects, and adjustments to create a test round for playtesting. We will finish the creator’s top-down view and add their features for controlling clones.

We will also be finetuning the 3D art assets and adding special effects animations for the soldering. The sound effects will be synced up as well.
