The essential objective for today is a crash course in techniques for creating content for the bridge.
Theory and Practice
- Jessica: essentials of light and color theory
- Garth: introduction to the bridge hardware (user guide)
- Garth: introduction to Pharos Designer 2 (installation, project template)
- Garth: case studies in bridge animation workflow
- Garth: introduction to the Python tools
Project Group Meetings
Administrative questions:
- Will one or more students in each group be available for nighttime show testing?
Time permitting, we will briefly check in with each group in breakout sessions.
Assignment 2
Due: noon on Thursday Mar 30
The project handout is on the Project Brief page. As per the brief, next week all groups should present a well thought out concept for the project with a storyboard of visual research and/or sketches depicting each major design idea for the show.
Deliverable: blog post for the group with the following:
- concept description in a concise paragraph of text
- visual storyboard depicting the plan, including
- visual research as embedded images and video
- sketches (hand-drawn or digital) showing each major design idea
