Since we’ve transitioned our class online and the it seems like videography will become a more important aspect of this class, I wanted to play with cutting clips together to show a clear story for this assignment. I love the way that fire moves and the colors that it produces. By shooting this video during the night, I hoped that the fires properties would stand out more prominently.

I tried to capture the process of the cloth being lit to being extinguished by choosing certain stages in the burning process and by inserting audio pieces to show that a lighter was turned on or that the embers were doused in water, even though the corresponding video clips weren’t included.

I enjoyed playing with how the cloth interacted with light and audio in this assignment a lot.
