My idea behind my first piece was to imitate the motion of kite being flown. I first started by heat sealing a diamond in the center in order to create a unique motion once blown up. I then added yarn to the bottom, so that the motion of the yarn imitated a kite blown by wind.

My idea behind the second piece came from the concept of flappers from the 1920s. I first heat sealed parallel diagonal lines within a pouch to emulate contracting and expanding of a body. I then added fringe to the top of the pouch to emulate the outfit flapper typical wore and to emulate the motion made when twisting in that outfit.

My idea behind my third piece was to show the motion of things embedded within each other and how each piece’s motion effects the other. I first created a small pouch and stuffed fabric and pipe cleaners within it and on top of it. I next created a bigger outer pouch and inserted the small pouch and additional fabric within it.
