Assignment 1 – Tyler Koh

I took on this project initially with set themes and shapes I already had in mind as I carried on with this assignment. Personally, a set approach allowed for efficient planning on the time and materials I needed for this assignment, and made my process a lot easier and fun. It would’ve also been fun to approach the assignment with no specific plans and observing where that would lead me to, but personally I enjoyed observing my work and process reach the original goals I have set and observing the differences between my expectations and the eventual outcome of the assignment. I also learned that what I believed to be a “fail” and what seemed “ugly” to my eyes could come across as a different approach for my fellow classmates and how they could become an inspiring factor for both me and my classmates.

Description: A rocket with a “goPuff” printing, inspired by the “speed” and how it is essential in delivery.

Description: Organs such as the heart and lungs have the nature of “pumping” and “inflating/deflating”. These could be mocked by blowing air into and out of the inflatables

Description: (A Korean Flag (left) and the human brain (right)) Although they were created with a planned out outcome, it was interesting to observe the inflation/deflation as they did not have a set expectation along the process.
