Jamie& Tahirah — Push/Pull pt. 2

Tahirah and Jamie’s Push/Pull part 1

Based on our designs from Push/Pull part 1, we decided to marry the geometric elements with the fun form inspired by the Mickey and Minnie mouse. After a few iterative sketches, we landed on the idea on the bottom, where a big sphere is decorated by a cone full of mickey-ears and a bow.

We worked on bringing this to life for many many hours. Although the final product did not come out exactly as we have expected, it was a fun and important learning process. We gained skills on how to sew a larger-scale element and what it is like to sew as a team. We also learned about the power of geometric shapes’ abstract nature: How it allows the viewer to imagine the use and its purpose.
