^Intended for education. I was reminded of this after reading about the dynamic sand table in Make It So.
As a diver, when I am learning a new dive, the coach will yell at us while we are in the air and upon hearing the call we will come out ready to enter the water. Another interrupt is when you have the urge to use the restroom, especially during the night. An example of a less common interrupt would be a fire alarm for a fire drill or actual fire emergency.
This is a ‘concept film’ by Charles and Ray Eames on how to solve the problem of airports expanding to handle jet planes and massive numbers of passengers having to walk several football fields from their car to their plane.
Read all the credits to the end, then look at what the Eames did as designers.
Kitchen timer, calendar notifications/task managing apps, Fitbit (can be set up with ‘reminders to move’), several newer dryer models ‘sing’ a cheery, loud tune to announce when laundry is ready.
