Mending – Holly Liu
I really enjoyed the process of mending my clothing, even though the darning method was really time intensive. On the pants that I chose to mend, there were three spots that had torn. The first was a tear on the pocket from catching on a fence; initially, this tear did not bother me because it was relatively superficial and did not affect the function of the pocket. However, in December, the pants tore on the seat and the inner thigh, making the pants unwearable.
On the pocket tear, I patched it so it would be less likely to catch on something. On the two other tears, I darned them to make the mend more integrated into the fabric.
