The idea I want to explore in this project is the encapsulation of a host by a parasite. I want to explore the type of relationship where a parasite infects a host and completely takes over the “body” of the host.

In order to execute this idea physically I explored the contrast between filling air and sucking out air in objects adjacent to each other. I focused on trying to visualize the aspect of one object getting “sucked in” or “encapsulated” by another.

there are two parts: the big bag and the small foil wrapped pouch

The bigger bag inflates from the corners while the center sinks in. The small pouch sucks in to help visualize getting sucked in.
