(2) Deliverables Reminder for this Thursday (9/15):
- A proposal for your Typology Machine project is due this Thursday (9/15). This should take the form of a blog post with some text and sketches. Details are here. On Thursday, you will meet in small groups with your classmates to discuss/brainstorm your proposals.
- NEW (5-10 minutes). For Thursday 9/15, please make an additional blog post presenting your favorite SEM image(s). Retrieve your SEM images (in TIFF format) from the CBI lab’s online downloads website. Convert your favorite 2-3 SEM images to JPG format using Photoshop or something similar. Upload and publish them in the blog post. Please describe what we’re seeing in the images: what did you scan? Add a couple of sentences discussing what you learned, and/or what surprised you about the SEM experience. Categorize your blog post with the WordPress category, SEM. On Thursday, we will take a moment to appreciate your favorite results. Be prepared to discuss one of your SEM images in class.
Did you know that you can create the “feeling” of 3D by animating rapidly alternating images from two different views? You can also create anaglyphic stereo images by compositing red and cyan views in Photoshop. These images were made by Huw, an ExCap-2020 student.
