Study: Manta Ray

This structure would resemble a large Manta Ray, sharing many forms and characteristics. The fins are made of a lighter fabric that responds well to the actuated flapping motion created at the joint- the project is strongly inspired by the unique motion created as Manta Rays swim. The main body would be inflated so that it “swims” through the air.

Study: Heart Anatomy

This structure would resemble a large heart, and “beat” through the inflation and deflation of different pneumatic pouches put together. The expansion and deflation can be controlled by the breath of the user. The heart would float by being filled with a type of gas, and is connected to the user via multiple air pipes.

Floating Garden

Flowers “bloom” and contract based on the breath of the user- a pouch can expand in the center of the flower to dictate petal movement. Each flower floats on its own “lily” and is connected to the user via air tubes. LEDs can be incorporated to create a heightened imapct.
