I made a machine that spins in a circle. I added hot glue to one wheel to make it track more than just one circle. I also added a head to it.

I attached a candle to the end of a motor and suspended it. You can kind of see the history of the marks based on how much ash is in the wax.
I made a harmonograph that draws with a spinny china marker.
The harmonograph was originally a pantograph, but it seemed a lot more interesting at the time to play around with harmonic motion.

A marker waltz.
Initially it was just a paper cylinder with a spinning marker.

The addition of more elaborate machinery, adding sheering motion to the cylinder, made the results worse.
