Since class, I’ve been working on the skirt and pockets of my dress, which are now almost complete! Now I just have to do some minor clean up with the gathered seam and then finish the seam on the inside, then attach the skirt to the top and add an elastic band underneath the bust. I’ll probably finish today!

Have done bias tape around half of the cut-outs. Figured out a way to minimize wrinkles by cutting heart into quarters for sewing.
Garment Update
When I was almost finished pinning, I realized I ran out of what I was using and had to unpin the whole skirt. I then had to repin for just doing a small closing on the edge to keep the fabric from running. I just got that sewn and plan to full finish the edge during class today.

For my garment, I’ve already gone through two fittings and made adjustments to the muslin slopers. Now, I am tracing the patterns back onto pattern paper and making sure measurements and curves match for either side of the garment. I took my muslin mock-up apart so I could trace the individual blocks.
Garment Update
Finished most of the draft of the garment, have to make a few adjustments to the sleeves so then I can move on to use the actual garment fabric.

Garment Update
I finished most of the skirt including pockets, zipper, and waistband.
garment updates!
I finished both halves of the bodice of my dress! I spent the weekend mostly working on the sleeves after I finished up the bodice last week. The next steps are to start putting together the skirt and cutting out and attaching the pockets. Things are moving along nicely and I think it should all be done pretty soon if things keep on going smoothly.

I made the pattern pieces from the sloper, transferred the design to canvas, and added additional pieces for the waistband based on a favorite pair of levis. I have cut out all the pattern pieces out of their respective fabric with seam allowance, and have ironed interfacing to all necessary pieces, including the waistband and bands to hold belt in. The next step is to cut the hearts out, and bias tape the pant leg ones and not the butt-hearts because I will do those with the back length crotch seam.
