Adjusted Slopers pt. II – Sarah Xi
I finally finished adjusting my slopers! Here are some changes from last time:
- Brought the armscye down by a lot so it was less tight
- Opened up the top part of sleeve since I took in 1 cm from center last time it was too tight all the way through.
- Leveled the bodice at the bottom (waist line) (I realize now that I took the pictures before I trimmed it)
- Tucked in 6cm from hip horizontally so waist to crotch length is shortened.
I almost done ripping the seams out of everything so the new sloper paper templates are coming soon.

The pictures are not very clear, so here are the adjustments made:
Front Bodice:
Decreased dart by 1/2 inch on each side of dart -> 1 inch decrease in dart width
Lowered dart height by 1/2 in.
Decreased shoulder width by 1/4 in.
Brought in 1/2 in. at chest
Back Bodice:
Decreased shoulder width by 1/4 in.
Brought in 1/2 in. at back chest
Trousers Front:
Decreased rise at top by 2.5cm
Shortened front rise by 1cm
Trousers Back:
Decreased rise at top by 2.5cm
Lowered back rise by 1cm

I think that the slopers fit better after making the adjustments. The armholes still feel a little cinched at some parts, but I think that is mostly due to small mistakes while sewing the sleeve on.

Trousers were slimmed down an inch on the side and 4 inches shorted from above the hip.
Bodice was elongated 4 inches and armscye lowered about 3/4 inch on front and back slopers.
Sleeve was widened by an inch total split between both sides at the top and tapered in at the bottom as well as shortened.

I still plan on adjusting the bodice dart more ASAP, so that everything lays flat and I don’t have that weird bit of extra room.
