I’m a really big fan of sound art that deals with wearable technology and the body’s role in music-making. Using surface transducers (little machines which vibrate at a frequency depending on their input, i.e. little vibrating circles that turn surfaces into speakers), the Human Harp is an example of an instrument that incorporates gesture as well as space into its performative practice.
It’s a fairly simple set-up, but it’s one of the projects that has most inspired me.
